The CS540 with HL10 bundled set includes the convertible wireless headset as well as the HL10 handset lifter for remote call answer and end capability. The CS540 offers the latest in super-lightweight headset design, a new, slimmer charging base, expanded range up to 350 feet and 7 hours of continuous talk time on a full charge. Includes both the headband and 3 size earloops for maximum versatility, as shown in the photo above. Universal compatibility -- CS540 works with just about any single-or multi-line corded office desk phone. Noise canceling microphone means your callers will hear more of your voice and less of the chatter around you. The latest DECT 6.0 technology operates on 1.9 GHz frequency and advanced wideband audio using CAT-iq technology for world class security and audio clarity. (Note: Part number on bottom of CS540 base says CO54 or C054 CS500 Series.)

This bundled set includes the HL10 handset lifter for remote answering capability -- complete solution. Nothing else is needed.

Most Commonly Asked Questions About Wireless Headsets

Will a wireless headset sound as good as my handset receiver?
No one should be able to tell that you're on a headset. It should sound every bit as clear and crisp as a call made on your handset receiver, just a lot more comfortable!

Is it easy to hook up myself, even if I am not technologically inclined?
It only takes a few minutes to hook up and you can certainly do it without being a techie. If you have any trouble, we're here to walk you through the process.

Will the volume be robust enough for me on a wireless headset?
Yes, you will have separate master settings for both incoming (speakers) and outgoing (microphone) on the charging base, as well as fine tuning for the incoming volume on the earpiece so you can adjust while you are roaming. There is also a mute button on the earpiece.

I am used to a corded headset. How will the wireless differ?
The main difference is that you are no longer tethered to your desk so you can grab a fax, walk to the printer, check stock on a shelf, etc., all while on a call. The main thing you'll have to get used to is remembering to set the headset on the charging stand at the end of the day to charge it up for the next day.

What's the life of the battery?
The rechargeable battery usually lasts anywhere from 1 1/2 - 3 years, depending on how much you use the headset. If you find that you are getting a beeping in your earpiece earlier and earlier in the day, that's the sign that you will want to order a new battery.

Will the wireless headset work on a multi-line phone?
Yes, you can use the CS540 on a single- or multi-line corded desk phone. Most office phones are programmed for automatic line selection so that when your phone rings, you'll automatically get the ringing call, regardless of which line it's coming in on.

Can I put a call on hold or switch lines from the headset while away from my desk?
Unfortunately, there are no wireless headsets available that have a hold button, transfer button or line buttons. Since this is just a headset, not a phone, you'll have to walk back to your desk to press the necessary buttons on your phone to perform those functions.

CS540 Set-Up and Installation: Set-up couldn't be any simpler. Simply unplug your handset receiver from your telephone and connect the CS540 base in its place. There is another port on the CS540 to reconnect your handset receiver so it's still operational as well. CS540 Compatibility:If you have a corded desk phone with either a dedicated modular (RJ9) headset port or a standard handset receiver (which also plugs into your phone with a small modular RJ9 plug), you can use the Plantronics CS540.
